SybilGuard is Absinthe’s white-label reputation badge builder. It helps you distinguish authentic, high-quality participants from farmers and bots—without forcing you to block participation outright. In many campaigns, the core challenge is not traffic. It’s selectivity: deciding who should be eligible for meaningful rewards, multipliers, or high-value allocations. SybilGuard gives you that control by scoring participants based on the strength and consistency of their digital footprint. Under the hood, SybilGuard evaluates a participant’s connected identities across 30+ attributes and produces a SybilGuard score from 0 to 20.

What SybilGuard enables

With SybilGuard, you can:
  1. Filter and reward based on reputation Review campaign participants by SybilGuard score and only reward users who cross your threshold.
  2. Create a claimable reputation pass Let users mint a reputation badge, creating stronger commitment and a loyalty dynamic within your campaign.
  3. Reduce reward leakage Identify likely bots and farmers early and prevent low-quality participation from consuming high-value reward pools.

White-label badge configuration

SybilGuard is fully white-label. You control:
  • Badge name
  • Visual identity and imagery
  • Collection sizing (including limited supply tiers)
SybilGuard minting produces a soulbound token (SBT): a non-transferable NFT that is minted into the participant’s connected EVM wallet.
Minting is optional. Users can still receive a score without minting. If they do mint, the economic stake signals additional commitment and can improve legitimacy. In practice, you can treat the SybilGuard score as the primary signal without requiring separate logic for minted versus unminted badges.

Campaign Manager setup

SybilGuard is configured per campaign. Navigate to: Campaign Sidebar → SybilGuard Toggle Enable SybilGuard to turn the feature on. You can then configure:
  1. Badge name Example: Reputation Pass, Humanity Score, Digital Value Card
  2. Badge image The visual displayed to campaign participants
  3. Manager wallet address Depending on your plan, you may be eligible to receive up to 20% of mint fees from users who mint the badge. Contact sales for plan details.
  4. Tier 0 limit Tier 0 is a limited-supply tier that can be used to signal stronger commitment. You set the maximum number of Tier 0 badges that can be minted.
  5. Blockchain network Select where the badge is minted. Supported networks currently include:
    • Ethereum mainnet
    • Arbitrum
    • Mantle
    • Base

Placing the SybilGuard widget

After enabling SybilGuard, you must place the SybilGuard widget on your campaign landing page.
1

Navigate to Landing Pages

Navigate to Campaign Sidebar → Landing Pages
2

Add the SybilGuard widget

Click Add Widget, or press Command + K and search for SybilGuard
3

Position the widget

Place the widget where it best fits your landing page layout
Add clear explanatory copy near the widget so participants understand:
  • Why the badge exists
  • What actions improve their score
  • Whether minting is optional or recommended

Participant experience

Participants access SybilGuard from the campaign webpage after logging in. They can view their score and the minting flow either:
  • Directly in the SybilGuard widget, or
  • Via a dedicated button in the top-right area of the navigation bar
To improve their score, participants should connect as many identities as possible. SybilGuard evaluates their digital footprint across 30+ attributes and generates a proprietary score. After claiming their score, participants can optionally mint their reputation badge. Minting is optional, but it signals additional commitment and can increase legitimacy.

Minting tiers and fees

SybilGuard currently supports three minting tiers:
  • Tier 2: unlimited supply, 0.005 ETH
  • Tier 1: unlimited supply, 0.001 ETH
  • Tier 0: limited supply (set by campaign manager), 0.001 ETH
Mint fees offset the cost of scanning digital footprints and generating SybilGuard scores. Depending on your plan, up to 20% of mint fees can be routed to the manager wallet address configured in the campaign.

Finalization and wallet visibility

After minting, participants should allow up to 30 minutes for blockchain finalization. Once confirmed, the badge appears in their EVM wallet as a non-transferable NFT (SBT). SybilGuard is the default mechanism for turning open participation into controlled reward eligibility—without sacrificing distribution.
