Supported Twitter interactions
Absinthe supports four distinct Twitter interaction types, each optimized for a different engagement goal.Tweet Like
Tweet Like lets you reward users for liking a specific tweet. You provide the Tweet URL or Tweet ID, and users earn points when they like that tweet and verify the action through the campaign page. This is commonly used to amplify announcement tweets, product launches, partnership reveals, or time-sensitive updates where engagement velocity matters. Tweet Like pairs well with Tweet Retweet for coordinated amplification.Tweet Retweet
Tweet Retweet rewards users for retweeting a specific tweet. Configuration mirrors Tweet Like: you specify the Tweet ID or URL, define the reward, and users retweet and verify through the campaign page to receive points. This mechanism is ideal when reach and distribution are the primary goals, such as spreading announcements beyond your immediate follower base.Twitter Following
Twitter Following rewards users for following a specific X account. Instead of a Tweet ID, you specify an account handle or profile URL. Users earn points once they follow the account and verify the action. Follower growth remains an important signal for partnerships, exchange listings, co-marketing initiatives, and overall social proof. While the ecosystem continues to diversify its acquisition channels, a strong and authentic follower base on core accounts—such as the project, founders, or leadership—still carries meaningful weight.Thread Competition
Thread Competitions are a higher-engagement activation designed to reward thoughtful, original content rather than simple clicks. In a Thread Competition, users create tweet threads that mention your brand by tagging your Twitter handle. They then submit their tweet through the campaign page to participate. Rewards are based on engagement metrics such as views, likes, and retweets, which you configure ahead of time. Importantly, engagement is measured at the time of submission, not at the tweet’s eventual peak performance. This creates a clear “cash-in-your-tweet” mechanic: users submit when they believe their tweet has performed well, and points are issued based on the snapshot captured at submission time. To prevent abuse and over-participation, Thread Competitions include rate-limiting controls that allow you to cap:- The total number of submissions per user
- The number of submissions per user per week
