Each campaign in Absinthe can be served on a custom domain or subdomain that you own. This replaces the default boost.absinthe.network URL and gives you a fully branded, more reliable setup for public-facing campaign pages.

Why use a custom domain

Using your own domain or subdomain for campaign pages has concrete marketing and operational benefits:
  • It reinforces brand trust and credibility by keeping users on a domain they recognize, rather than a third-party URL.
  • It improves shareability and click-through rates across social platforms, where branded links consistently outperform generic ones.
  • It allows better attribution and analytics alignment, especially when paired with GA4 and paid acquisition campaigns.
  • It gives you long-term control over SEO equity, backlinks, and indexed pages tied to your brand rather than Absinthe’s domain.
For most teams, a subdomain such as rewards.yourcompany.com or points.yourcompany.com is the recommended setup.

Setup Instructions

1

Log into your domain registrar

Access the DNS management section for the domain or subdomain you want to use.
2

Open the Custom Domain settings in Absinthe

Navigate to Absinthe → Campaign Settings → Custom Domain.
3

Enter your domain or subdomain

Input the full domain (for example, rewards.yourcompany.com). Absinthe will automatically generate a single CNAME record.
4

Add the CNAME record

Copy the generated CNAME record into your domain registrar’s DNS settings and save the change.
5

Verify propagation

Visit the domain you configured. DNS propagation usually completes within a few minutes, but may take up to 30 minutes in some cases.

Notes and behavior

  • Only one CNAME record is required with the current setup.
  • Apex (root) domains are not supported unless your DNS provider offers CNAME flattening or ANAME support. Please contact your support representative for more information.
