Absinthe supports native Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking at the campaign level. Once configured, analytics events are automatically emitted from your deployed points portal without any additional code changes.

About Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 is Google’s current analytics standard. It is event-based and designed for modern web experiences, including Absinthe campaign portals. To enable GA4 tracking, you must provide a valid GA4 Measurement ID from your Google Analytics property.

Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID

Enter your Measurement ID in the format: G-XXXXXXXXXX (GA followed by 10 alphanumeric characters) You can find this in Google Analytics by navigating to: Admin → Data Streams → Web → Measurement ID Once saved, the Measurement ID is injected into your campaign’s points portal. Changes propagate immediately to the live deployment.

What gets tracked

When GA4 is enabled, Absinthe automatically tracks standard page and session events for your campaign portal, including:
  • Page views and navigation within the portal
  • Session starts and engagement duration
  • Traffic sources
This gives you visibility into how users discover, enter, and move through your campaign experience.

Scope and behavior

  • Tracking is campaign-specific. Each campaign can use a different GA4 property if desired.
  • Disabling or removing the Measurement ID immediately stops analytics collection for that campaign.
Use GA4 to monitor acquisition channels, campaign performance, and user engagement across your points portal with minimal setup.
